(¸.•´ (¸.•`♥ Create an afghan you will truly cherish forever with this unusually elegant and timeless design. The rich cross-stitch embroidery is beautifully framed with traditional crocheted "cables," adding depth and texture. This afghan is crafted in individual panels using Afghan/Tunisian stitching techniques for a unique and intricate look. Additionally, there is a set of bordering panels made using regular crochet to perfectly complement the overall design. The detailed designs are embroidered (cross stitch) onto the panels, which are then carefully assembled, and finally, a delicate edging with picot stitches is added in crochet to complete the piece. We have recently updated this pattern (August 9th, 2025), enhancing the graph by adding color for better clarity, and rewriting the entire pattern to make the instructions clearer and a bit easier to follow.

This pattern has been thoughtfully rewritten from its vintage format to make it significantly more modern and easier to read; all the while still ensuring that the original end product remains the same. The intention was to maintain the charm of the original design while enhancing clarity for contemporary crafters.

This pattern uses a graph and written directions.

Size: 56 x 68 inches.

Materials: Worsted weight yarn (size 4); 32 oz Off-white, 18 oz Dark Peach, 16 oz Cocoa Brown, 4 oz Olive, 3 oz Light Peach or Shaded Oranges. Afghan/Tunisian crochet hook size H (5mm) or size required to obtain gauge sizing. Crochet hook size H (5mm). Tapestry needle.

Gauge: 7 sts = 2" inches, 7 rows = 2" inches in Afghan/Tunisian simple stitch/single crochet.
